Schedule : 8h30 à 12h et 13h à 16h30

Location : Training Room 301, Sirius Office, Sainte-Adèle

Description :

Taping in Remote Areas training is designed specifically for healthcare professionals or first aid certificate holders who work in remote areas, or take part in outdoor activities in areas cut off from medical assistance. This training aims to provide participants with the skills needed to administer basic care, including taping, in situations where they may be the first line of medical safety.

Here's a detailed description of the course:

1. Introduction to taping techniques : Participants are introduced to various taping techniques, including neuromuscular taping (NMT) and athletic taping. They learn the fundamentals of these techniques, including therapeutic objectives and practical applications for various injuries or discomforts.

2. Anatomy and physiology : A basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology is essential for the effective application of taping. Participants review the major systems of the human body, focusing on muscles, joints and related tissues.

3. Indications and contraindications : Participants learn to identify medical conditions that can benefit from taping, as well as those for which taping is contraindicated. This includes an understanding of common injuries in isolated environments and best practices for treating them.

4. Taping techniques : Participants gain hands-on experience in the application of different taping techniques for a variety of conditions, such as sprains, muscle strains, joint injuries and more. They learn how to select the right type of tape, prepare the treatment area and apply taping safely and effectively.

5. Medical emergency management : In addition to taping, participants are trained to manage medical emergencies in isolated environments. This includes wound stabilization, management of minor fractures and bandaging techniques.

6. Practical exercises and simulations : The training includes practical exercises and simulated emergency scenarios to enable participants to put their skills into practice under realistic conditions.

7. Equipment and supplies : Participants learn to select and use appropriate medical equipment and supplies for emergency care in isolated environments, taking into account logistical constraints and limited resources.
