Wilderness mental health first aid

MODULE 4 - Self-care

TEACHING METHOD: Online (synchronous)

DURATION: 3 hours

PREREQUISITES :

  •Completion of module 1 (online training) as well as modules 2 and 3 (face-to-face)

OBJECTIVES :

1. Testing and applying mental health first aid tools in remote areas

2. Integrate approaches and postures to be favored in professional practice.

CONTENT : 

•Stress response for people involved in traumatic events 

•Compassion fatigue, type 2 (vicarious) trauma and burnout 

•Prevention and promotion of mental health in the workplace  

•Savior / Rescuer (Savior Syndrome) 

•Preferred and avoided attitudes and postures for mental health first aid 

•Self-monitoring, self-care in mental health and vectors of meaning and mobilization
